West Coast Swing Social Dance

DJ Spacebar’s on the tunes and all your westie friends are in the room. Our WCS social is a night of fun, music, and dance—and you’re invited. We welcome everyone from seasoned dancers to complete beginners.

7:30 to 9:30 PM, dancing

Kings College Dance Studio, Castine Way (Side entrance by the Library; head downstairs to the studio. Parking is free.)

Change into non-marking indoor/clean shoes before entering the studio.

Derek and Jennifer Workshop Weekend Social

Everyone welcome! Whether you’re attending workshop lessons or just want a night on the dance floor, this Friday dance welcomes you.

🗓 When: March 28, 8:00 to 10:00 PM

📍 Where: Kings College Gym, Castine Way (Side entrance by the Library; head downstairs to the studio. Parking is free.)

🎟 Cost: $15 at the door

Dance to a mix of contemporary, pop and favourite WCS songs! Our social dances are a welcoming place to meet new friends and enjoy time together on the dance floor.

WCS & Blues Crossover

Our regular collab with DalKing Swing is a popular “crossover” social dance. You’ll get mini lessons in both West Coast Swing and Blues styles, then dance the night away with everyone. DJs will spin music that can work for both dance styles for most of the night.

7:00 PM: mini-blues lesson
7:30 PM: mini-WCS lesson
8:00 to 10:00 PM: social dancing

$10 cash or credit/debit at the door Volunteers needed for check-in and set-up. Help out with a 30 minute shift and save $5 on cover, email dalswing.volunteers@gmail.com to sign-up now! Location: Happy Soul Dance Studio, 3089 Oxford St, Halifax.
