Learn new movements and improve your technique! We’re welcoming two renowned West Coast Swing Allstar competitors and instructors to our community for three awesome days.

Workshops are a perfect way to focus on improving your dancing, learn new things, and hear highly valuable feedback. Join in to give yourself seven great, skill-building hours of WCS!

This workshop is open to any dancer who has completed in-class Bootcamp and/or Improver lessons. (Not suitable for absolute beginners.)

Apply early as lead and follow spots are limited.

WCS Classes

BOOTCAMP

Beginner-friendly; or learn your alternate role
Single two-hour class
No experience or partner required
Learn the basic West Coast Swing patterns

Progressive, topic-focused lessons

Guided Practice

ALTERNATE ROLE FOCUS

February 9, 5:15-6:15 PM at St. Andrews Community Centre
Who should attend: those with some class experience learning their alternate role
Free to attend, but registration required
Come prepared with a list of things you’re working to improve in your alternate role. Instructors will be there to provide feedback

WCS Social Dances

DJ Spacebar’s on the tunes and all your westie friends are in the room. Our WCS social is a night of fun, music, and dance—and you’re invited. We welcome everyone from seasoned dancers to complete beginners.

Blues & WCS Crossover Social

A night with two of the most creative dance styles in one place! We join DalKing Swing to welcome you to this special crossover social dance. Spinning tunes that you can groove to in West Coast Swing or Blues styles.

🎶 Mini lessons in Blues (7:00 to 7:30 PM) and West Coast Swing (7:30 to 8:00 PM)

Join our community!

Guided Practices:

If you have established skills in progressive levels of West Coast Swing, guided practices are for you! Reach out to us about specific topics you want to work on to elevate your dancing.

Progressive Lessons:

Weekly classes are offered throughout most of the year for Beginners and Improvers. We welcome people new to partner dancing and who have experience in other dance styles. Join us for a class to begin, refresh, progress, or try the other dance role!

Social Events:

We host West Coast Swing social dances throughout the year in Halifax, NS. And collaborate with DalKing Swing to offer Blues and WCS crossover dances. Everyone is welcome, no experience or partner is needed to join in.
